Estimation of electromagnetic shielding properties of wire mesh with AL6061 composite material for oblique incidence

Since composite materials were initially used in airplanes a few decades ago, substantial research has been done on problems such as lightning strike protection (LSP) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. In the current state of technology, aerospace industry needs cutting-edge to meet requirements like lower weight higher values strength stiffness protect against interference. On other hand, metallic mesh performs poorly at high frequencies (UHF SHF). Many present future equipment can only operate frequency range referred above. Metal wire matrix (MWMMC) may be employed shield result this research. work, we made three different MWMMCs represented MMC-1 with 95% AL6061+5% Fly ash, MMC-2 90% AL6061+10% MMC-3 85% AL6061+15% ash. article, stir-casting method was try make Al6061 metal composites that stronger amounts fly ash particles. With AL6061 protects strikes. So it serve an aircraft surface MWMMC. The material's thickness should maintained low possible. It decided explore oblique incidence mix reinforced pure AL6061, provide more significant shielding better approximate signal toward practical case. Compared plane sheet, effectiveness material will reduced. words, maximum obtained 37dB 20 dB. 40.5 dB manufactured is obtained, beneficial for applications.

Emerging technology for shielding of electromagnetic radiation using composite materials

This study indicated that multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)-epoxy composites can be used as effective lightweight shielding materials. The measurement results showed that highest EMI SE of 23.4 dB at 8 GHz was obtained for nanocomposite with 1 wt% MWCNTs.
